Jonathan Chorn come from clay workers, on both sides of the family. His grandmother and uncle on his father's side of the family were both potters.
Jonathan played with clay before walking, in his mother's pottery arts studio.
High-school he studied at The Art Ballet Drama & Music school in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Studying a vast array of artistic disciplines.
In 2001 he began studying at The Florence Academy Of Art, Florence Italy, completed a 3 year programme, in classical realist figurative sculpture.
He attained a position as personal sculpture assistant to Richard MacDonald, who is world renowned figurative contemporary sculptor in Monterey California.
Jonathan continues to develop modern boundary pushing concepts, utilizing mixed media.

Moved by truth of innocence of youth, cultivating the unlearning of civilization, remembering, knowing our origin from which we came.
